Environmental Row
The Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts has always maintained a strong environmental aspect to the planning, development and operation of the festival. EAFA is the only free, family friendly arts event to have a comprehensive environmental focus in New York State.
Environmental Row will be located on Auburn Avenue. Come and learn about clean wind and solar energy alternatives and find out how to decrease energy consumption while lowering utility bills. Check out the status of our local waterways and see what's growing green in Buffalo.
The Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts has featured a solar powered stage for 9 years. This year we will have 2 solar powered stages! You Save Green will provide Solar power to the Dance Tent at the UU Church. If possible, please walk to the Festival, carpool or ride your bike! Bike valet services for 30 bikes will be provided by Green Options Buffalo.
We compost all of the vegetable waste from the Festival Cafe, and we actively recycle plastic bottles, glass bottles and cans throughout the Festival.
It is our goal to adopt best environmental practices in planning and sustaining the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts and when possible we work with other event organizations to improve their environmental impact in the community.
